

Tackling food insecurity is not only about putting food on a plate–it’s a public health issue. Beyond the effects on physical wellbeing, the inability to access food directly impacts mental health as well. Extensive research underscores the significant psychological toll that food insecurity imposes on individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
In October, 412 Food Rescue solidified our role as a leader in the global fight against food waste and hunger as our Food Rescue Hero platform team proudly hosted the 3rd annual Food Rescue Conference.
As Halloween draws near, it’s important to reflect on why food waste is more concerning than any ghost story. The squandered resources, environmental implications, and the persistent presence of hunger in our community are all tangible concerns that, upon mitigating food waste, can dissipate as well.
